According to ʿAbd Allah b. ʿAmr (ra), the Messenger of Allah (saw) said, “There is no one who kills a small bird or anything larger for no just reason, but Allah, the Mighty and Sublime, will ask him about it.” (al-Nasaʾi, al-Sayd, 34)
According to Sahl b. al-Hanzaliyya (ra), the Messenger of Allah (saw) came across a camel whose stomach was stuck to its back out of starvation and said, “Fear Allah regarding these dumb animals! Ride them and feed them when they are in good condition.” (Abu Daʾud, al-Jihad, 44)
According to Abu Hurayra (ra), the Messenger of Allah (saw) said, “There is reward in kindness shown to any animal.” (al-Bukhari, al-Musaqat, 9; Muslim al-Salam, 153)
