Does crying during or outside a prayer invalidate ablution?
Ablution is not invalidated by crying and having teardrops for any reason outside prayer. However, crying for a worldly concern aloud during prayer invalidates prayer but does not invalidate ablution (Marghinani, al-Hidayah, II, 4,5). In addition to this, crying due to fear from Allah, remembering heaven or hell, etc. during prayer neither invalidates nor harms the ritual prayer.
